The Euro08 is in full swing. Switzerland are now out of the running,
which has made a few of my colleagues rather subdued. Bern is host to all the Holland games, and they of course are on a high. Doing well, and partying to celebrate. We have about 40000 fans visiting Bern alone, I think most are Dutch, camping in huge fields and joining together in the fan zone in the centre. Here is a picture emailed to me, of the orange masses, before their 3:0 victory over Italy on Monday.

Salzburg is pretty good. They have some nice little train rides from there up into the Alps.
I'm enjoying the football. Turkey v Switzerland was a great game for a neutral, as was Croatia v Germany. Entertaining games played with spirit.

They're closing the fan zones in Geneva 'cos no one's going to them!

they have opened a 3rd one in Bern, but I hear some traders are not doing as well as they hoped on food. The beer is flowing though. The Dutch like a few drinks.

it seems odd, seeing matches beamed in from places you associate with things other than football - like salzburg!
