reckon I got away lightly

well I have noticed today major upset in blogland through the deletion of the tags. I know poor Marion was very badly hit, and her whole system is destroyed.
I think I got away lightly with just 2 tags being deleted. Not sure anymore where one of them was anyway so guess it is not important.

I read the explanation (and apology) from blog team. It makes sense, even if they should have given us a pre warning message of which tags would be deleted. I have never really got to grips with tags, so maybe I need to be more organised in the future.

I was told I was using tagging for the wrong purpose

I've just looked on FAQs to see if there's any guidelines on their usage and guess what? ..... nothing!

That's nonsense. It's YOUR blog and they are just giving you this piss poor excuse to justify their actions. You can tag your blog how you see fit. Of course, they can change their terms and conditions whenever they like, but it's poor customer service and makes them look like a bunch of idiots. Meh. Rant (nearly) over.

I too have not understood tags before I've just had a lesson so luckily it hasn't affected me, I'm just sorry for those it has

        Oh yes he sure is. I just said to him I hadn't really used tags as didn't know what they were for and so he explained bless him. Although it hasn't affected me I do think BUCK should have handled it better there are a lot of unhappy bloggers.

        I'm pissed off about the way it was done more than the fact that it WAS done. The explanation the team gave today makes sense and is reasonable.
        
        Marian has done a post on the ideas blog about including tags in the Frequently Asked Questions section, and I think that would be a big benefit.
        
        BCUK can't complain about how people use tags without providing guidelines on how they want people to use them.

I never understood tags so never actually used them so I guess that is why I didnt understand the hoopla over it. Of course if you used it alot it would be upsetting
